Annapurna Base Camp Trek a thrilling hike and adventurous journey to the Annapurna Conservation Area of Nepal. Annapurna Base camp Trek is the most beautiful foot walk trip, authentic culture of Gurung and Magar and diverse landscape. Trekking in Nepal is best to journey to explore the flora and fauna in Nepal. On 7 Days Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the basis on the tea house and you must backpack the necessary trekking gears. We listed here necessary trekking types of equipment for Anapurna Base Camp.
Trekking Equipment |
Hiking Clothes: The sun is very strong and you will be sweating a lot while you walking so that I would recommend something light, half paint and breathable like a weather-proof outer-shell jacket together with a fleece jacket and a regular shirt inside.
Teahouse Clothing: When you are idle, you will need something that can keep you warm. A big down jacket and warm inner liner are recommended for when you are in the teahouse. Most teahouses’ bedrooms are not equipped with a heater so you will definitely need a good down jacket.
Head Lamps: Important in the early mornings and early hike to Poon hill. Usually in the mountain, not electricity everywhere so you must bring the headlamp with extra batteries.
First Aids: Diary tablets, Bandages in case of blisters, Ox meter, Tylenol for headaches, Diamox for AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness)
Sunglasses: The sun is very important and is extremely strong up there.
Wet Wipes: The next best thing from actually having a shower in the mountains. You will thank yourself for it after 10 days of not showering.
Trekking Boot: Make sure you have waterproof sturdy shoes in case of rain. Break into your shoes first if you bought a new one. You wouldn’t want to be the hikers with blisters all over his/her feet at the end of the trek.
Money: Before you leave out in Kathmandu for all the days you are trekking as they are no way you will be able to get money out along Annapurna Base Camp trek. You can change US$ cash on the way but you get less exchange rate than Kathmandu.
Sleeping Bag: Bedrooms in teahouses can get really cold at night and there’s nothing worse than not being able to sleep after a 7-hours hike day. I would recommend getting -15°C. If you don’t have own sleeping bag then you hire Kathmandu or Pokhara. I would like to inform you that on the trek each hotel provides one blanket for each person.
Toiletries: Wet wipes tissue papers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreens, lip balms, etc.
Snacks: Prepare some snacks to treat yourself so you have to buy some snacks in Kathmandu or Pokhara. You can buy it on the way but super expensive.
Trekking Pole: Trekking pole is a very important thing for the Annapurna base camp trek. When you use the trekking pole you feel secure and not sleep coming down. The trekking poles very help you coming up and down. I would like to recommend you use to pair the pole.
Annapurna Trekking Map: You can download the map on your mobile phone but I would like to recommend you buy the map at Pokhara. The trekking map is not expensive you get pocket map 100 rupees.
Large Backpack (65L): 65 Liter hiking bag is enough to fit all this stuff so you can carry up the mountain.
